Breaking News about parking for tomorrow’s club
please park along the entrance road to the club right up to the top. DO NOT park in the normal car park as many cars have become stuck there over the last few days.

  • News about club this Saturday 11th. We have been advised by the Redbridge Cycling Centre that the circuit still has snow and ice and it is NOT expected to improve for Saturdays club. We have made alternative arrangements and these are:
    • Turbo training with Steven Griffiths in the centre. (Bring turbos if you have them and also if you are prepared to let other club members use them).
    •  Mick Clements will lead a group of cyclocross riders fro a 2 hour session in Hainault Forest. Make sure you bring drinks and snacks for this ride.
    • Off-road riding at Hog Hill will be subject to conditions.
    • Proper clothing is ESSENTIAL. plenty of layers rather than just a thick layer; warm gloves NOT fingerless gloves; warm socks – again layers of thin socks works well; warm, preferably waterproof shoes; scarf or neck warmer plus thin hat to go under helmet.
    • POSTPONED  Mark Chapman an ex pro rider  is coming to club on Saturday to talk about nutrition for racing and SIS products. Please note that this is not a  session on general nutrition so not designed for younger riders that we want to encourage to eat breakfast and less junk food!!!
    • There will also be a meeting for all the U14/U16/Juniors development squad riders after club on February 11th (this Saturday) to go over the targets/events and discuss the training opportunities – coaches to attend please.
  • Turbo training Monday, as usual.
  • Half term sessions at Hog Hill will be run by Steven and Andrew Griffiths Click HERE for full details. Please note that bookings only via Redbridge Cycling Centre. WE WILL ADVISE HERE OF ANY CHANGES DUE TO WEATHER
  • Also during half term week the BMX roadshow comes to the 5 Olympic Boroughs. Click HERE for details of times and dates
  • After our very successful first round of the Winter Road Series it has become clear that we cannot continue to accept race entries right up to race time. We will now close sign-on for all future races 10 minutes before the relevant scheduled race time.
  • Second Round of our Winter Road Circuit Series is o Saturday 25th February 2012. The Under 16 race is now open to Women cat 4,3,2,1 riders as well.
  • Eastern Region have given s preliminary details of the 2012 Eastern Region Youth Circuit Series – ERYCS. See our Road Page for what we have been given.
  • Recently during the Saturday afternoon a road bike was stolen from outside the Redbridge Cycling Centre building. This is only the second time since the centre opened but is also the second time in the last 4 months! Be  careful with your belongings, and if you need to leave your bike for any length of time, bring a lock and lock it up.
  • With more and more of our riders involved with Track, road and cyclocross races around the country we need more helpers, particularly with sign-on on Saturday mornings.please contact Julie or Bob Griffiths if you are willing to help or you can let me know and I will pass your details on to them. many thanks.
  • We are launching a new scheme for club kit. We are all only too well aware how quickly our children can grow out of their clothes. So, from now on we are prepared to give a discount of up to 25% of the cost of new club kit if you bring back second hand kit that we can then make available to others.
