Frankie Morgans-Slader is Regional Junior Womens Champion

Lee Valley riders came away with three medals at last weekends East and South-East Regional Cyclocross Championships held in Trinity Park (Ipswich) last Sunday.

The first medal went to Callum Mackie (LVYCC), winning silver in the U16 Youth race after holding off the challenge for second place from Cai Davies of Welwyn Wheelers.

Next up was Francesca Morgans-Slader (LVV) in the Junior Womens race where she quickly established and maintained a strong lead over her nearest rivals to win the gold medal and the Junior Womens Championship.

In the Junior Mens competition, won by National Trophy leader Sean Dunlea (Ciclos Uno), an exciting battle for 2nd and 3rd place developed between James Madgwick (LVV) and Paddy Atkinson (PedalPower) with James sprinting over the line to take the silver medal.

There were also great performances from LVYCC riders William Warre (U16) and Molly Drew (U14G).

Best adult result was from Bruce Mackie (15th in the 40-49 category) with midfield placings for Tony Madgwick and Jason Warre in the 50+ competition.

Francesca Morgans-Slader (LVV) and James Madgwick (LVV) currently lead the Junior Womens and Junior Mens Eastern Region Cyclocross Leagues and Lee Valley is currently second in the League Team Standings.
