Join us for our “Ride with Emma” event on Monday 11th August. It’s an opportunity for youth riders of all ages to cycle with Emma Trott at Redbridge Cycling Centre (“Hog Hill”) and chat with the recently-retired pro.
Emma has a great perspective on the sport, having come up through the youth ranks herself to race at world level. At 24 years old, her own youth years & development are not so long ago.
There’s no charge for the event itself – just pay the standard casual-use fee to ride the circuit when you arrive. We’ll finalise things on the day itself but this is the likely running order for the morning:-
Arrive ready for kids to ride at 10:00 a.m.
Emma will lead younger kids around several laps of the flat bottom circuit. Parents are very welcome to follow behind too if they’d like. Meanwhile, older kids can ride the top circuit while they are waiting.
Then, Emma will lead older or stronger kids around the full circuit. Meanwhile younger kids can go back to the clubhouse to buy refreshments.
We’ll end with a twenty minute Q&A session with Emma, in which she’ll offer advice to help young riders & parents.
We’ll be finished by lunchtime, but everyone is welcome to stay afterwards and ride the circuit for as long as they like.
There’s no need to book – just turn up on the day, and make sure you are changed and ready to start at 10:00 a.m..
All the practical information about the location of the circuit, how to get there, etc. can be found here. Thanks to the Redbridge Cycling Centre team for their continued support of YCS.
