Go-Ride interclub event at Tour of Britain – Sunday 22nd September 2013

The London Go-Ride team are running a Go-Ride interclub circuit race at the Tour of Britain on Sunday 22nd September on Victoria Embankment, between Northumberland Ave and Horse Guards Ave. The event will take place from 12 to 2pm in-between the Elite Womens Westminster Grand Prix and Tour of Britain final stage, so we hope people will make a day of it. See attached photo from 2011 event.

The racing will be for under 12s (riders born in 2001 or later). There is No minimum age, but riders need to be able to fit on our bikes (see below). This year we will have separate races for boys and girls. Racing will consist of several heats and finals. This is both an individual and club competition. Prizes will be presented to every rider, with additional prizes for the top placed riders and clubs.

All riders will race on British Cycling’s Pina mountain bikes, with flat pedals. We have made this decision to keep a level playing field and also so riders and parents don’t have the hassle of transporting and securing their bikes in what will be a very busy area of central London.

Riders will need to wear their club kit, helmet, and shoes appropriate for flat pedals (trainers). All riders must be members of British Cycling and represent their Go-Ride club.

How to Enter

All those wanting to ride must enter in advance by emailing the following details to Kate Ambrose who will be organising a team/group entry for the club:
