A message from Peter Cattermole – British Cycling
We can now finally confirm that we are running a Go Ride Racing circuit race at the Tour of Britian on 18th September at 2pm along the Embankment, near Embankment tube.
The racing will be for under 12s (riders born in 1999 or later) and consist of several heats and a final. This is ultimately an individual competition, but we will produce a club classification too. Entry is free and prizes will be presented to every rider, with additional prizes for the top placed riders and clubs.
All riders will race on British Cycling’s Pina mountainbikes, on flat pedals. We have made this decision to keep the playing field level in line with the spirit of Go Ride Racing, but also so riders and parents don’t have the hassle of transporting and securing their bikes in what will be a very busy area of central London.
Riders will need to wear their club kit, helmet, and shoes appropriate for flat pedals (trainers).
Please forward this to riders in your club who you would like to represent their club. All riders intending to ride on the day must confirm their entry in advance by emailing me at email@example.com, the closing date is Friday 16th, we cannot take entries on the day. All riders who have entered will be contacted a couple of days before the event with full details.
The Go-Ride Racing will take place between 2-3pm in between the Tour of Britian time trial, and final circuit race, so hopefully people make a day of it.
