You will get a warm welcome at our club.
Our Saturday morning club sessions are held at the Redbridge Cycling Centre.
Last Saturday saw in excess of 50 young riders enjoying themselves again. Training and instruction was given in Off-road, cyclocross, road and beginners cycling. Although we are getting lots of new members we have plenty of coaches so groups of similarly experienced riders are never too large!
In the winter months road racing slows down a bit (Winter series just announced – see separate post) but our young racers keep their fitness up by taking part in cycl0cross races most weekends. Last Sunday our riders were out at Mistley Cross in north Essex. Bruce Mackie kindly sent us this report.
Last weekend the Eastern league was at Mistley on a course comprising of a lot of tight single track set in woodland which was more like a mountain bike course in feel. First race was for U14s, u16s, Women and Veterans. They got to dig up the course a bit for everyone else. Francesca got 2nd in u14 girls, Matthew got 3rd and James 5th u14s boys, Matt got 10th u16s boys (he was actually 7th in the U14 boys. His first cross race and wrongly classified! Well done Matt anyway – a great result. Ed) and Tony was 31st Veteran. Next up was the u12s: Tristan fought off James for the win whilst Callum managed 3rd with Felix 13th (3rd u10) and Stan 18th (3rd u8). In the final race of the day I managed a fairly pedestrian 26th.
Over in the London league Hugo was on his own flying the flag for LVYCC (and for his new sponsors Mosquito Bikes) gaining 6th place against a serious field of Senior riders.
Hopefully there will be a few pictures later.
