Owen Williams takes the win at Finsbury Park Sun 16 June

Date June 18, 2013

Last weekend racing report on the results I know about!!

Owen Williams took a great win last Sunday at Finsbury Park’s North London Criteriums Under 12 race. As it turned out, it was also the only races of the day as all following races were cancelled for safety reasons!

To see Owen crossing the line go to UKCyclesport’s report at the following link:

CC London staged the last of their Circuit Series at Hog Hill on Saturday 15th June. Here it was the Lee Valley Velo riders who came up with the results. First off was the women’s race which saw Francesca Morgans-Slader take her first win of the series. A final sprint up the Hoggenburg left the others behind.

We were treated to a flying diplay during the race as the Memorial  Flypast for the Queen first of all passed right over us at Hog Hill. A magnificent sight led by the Lancaster bomber and finished by the Red Arrows!

Then came the rain and the 3/4 race. Jack Jeffery put in a great ride and avoided all the crashes to finish 5th. Well done Jack!

A repeat of the item received from Neil Irons of CCH:
Hi guys we are running trials on behalf of the London borough of Hackney for their London Youth games cycling squad – the next one will be at Hog Hill on Saturday 8th June at 9am and will be completed before the usual LVYCC Saturday morning sessions – one lap for U12s and two for U16s  - if you have any riders that live or go to school in Hackney they are eligible to trial for the squad – also if any of your riders want to test themselves anyway they are welcome to join in – the LYG are on the 6th July – same day as the national circuit champs for youth up in Blackpool so I expect some of the serious racers will be going to do that instead – totally understandable however they are still welcome to test themselves – we’ll be there with stopwatches….Neil Irons
